Capital structured to the asset.

Primero Capital organizes its lending around two related disciplines: maritime and shipping finance, and commercial asset-based lending.

Both are collateral-led. Both require documentation that can survive a default. Both are designed for borrowers who can present a coherent asset, a use of proceeds, and a repayment path.

Maritime & Shipping Finance

Vessel-backed term loans, refinancings, and related working capital for owners and operators. Security typically includes a preferred ship mortgage, assignments of earnings and insurances, account controls, and, where appropriate, parent or sponsor support.

Commercial Asset-Based Lending

Revolving credit and term facilities against eligible accounts receivable, inventory, machinery and equipment, and selected other commercial assets, with availability governed by a borrowing base.

Working Capital & Trade

Shorter-duration facilities that monetize contracted receivables, selected in-transit inventory, and trade-cycle needs connected to shipping and distribution.

How to choose a starting point

If the primary collateral is a vessel or a small fleet, begin with Maritime.

If the primary collateral is a pool of receivables, inventory, or equipment inside an operating company, begin with Asset-Based Lending.

Many shipping-adjacent companies use both over time: a mortgage facility on the asset and a revolver against freight receivables or inventory.
